Wall of Ouija Boards!

Now that the wedding is over and I have some spare time, I'm going to get started on filling up my wall dedicated to Ouija boards I've made.. so far a whopping.. two! Continuing on my all things Disney year of props.. I decided what better than to make some Disney related Ouija boards! I figured I'd start with the first feature length animated film, Snow White!

I'm thinking I'm going to attempt to cut around each of the dwarfs to give the board a non rectangular shape, but that means I'd have to cut out each leg hole to keep it consistent and I'm not sure if the scroll saw is going to be able to handle a piece this large! If not I will just square it up and paint some sky! I figured I was going to do this in black paint like the rest with just a red apple to make it stand out, but I may end painting the dwarfs in acrylics.. we shall see!

Happily ever after.. !

What a month! A few hectic build days left until our big day, our wedding, and then the honeymoon! Phew! I'm going to need a vacation for my vacation! December has almost come and gone, but what a fantastic month. I feel truly blessed. I married my best friend on the 7th and we get to start a new chapter in our lives, together! Fun was had by all at the ceremony and it was awesome to hear how everyone had an enjoyable and unforgettable evening.

We had an awesome time in Disneyland and got to meet up with a bunch of kick ass Instagram friends! Being at Disneyland for seven days we got to enjoy every moment! It wasn't about rushing to the next ride, or not being able to stop for the bathroom because we were going to miss some live performances.. We literally rode maybe six rides a day and enjoyed our entire time looking around and taking everything in. For as many times as I have been to Disneyland I had never enjoyed a show at the Golden Horse Shoe Revue, or gone into the Heraldry shop among others, but I can officially scratch a ton of stuff off my list! Food was the theme for this trip and we got to eat almost everywhere.. Blue Bayou (twice!!!,) Carthay Circle, Ariel's Grotto, Steak House 55, Big Thunder all you can eat BBQ, Carnation Plaza, and The Cove Bar ( lobster nachos and BLOODY MARYS...%$^#@%$^%!!!!!! .) I can't wait to go back!

March of the larger Card Guards!

I've officially gone nuts. With three days left until the wedding I decided to make even more new things and not finish stuff I have been putting to the side! AHH! At least I have a U-Haul truck reserved already! The card guards are HUGE! I figured they had to be larger than anything else, so they stand just over 6 feet in height! Still need to outline the black a bit more and seal these and they will be done! Not sure if I will have time to make them some lances.. I think probably not, but we will see! It is now officially crunch time! I've loaded up on Rockstar and Coffee, so hopefully I will get a lot accomplished tomorrow!

The Cheshire Cat is finally.......alive!

This is one of the earliest projects I painted for our wedding (TEN DAYS LEFT, OMG!) and one of the last to get animated! I happened to find an unused wiper motor inside my coffin of supplies and figured I could finally animate the cat without spending a bunch! I sourced all the parts from within my supply cabinet/coffin and luckily the Frankenstein concoction payed off!

Still need to paint the edges and seal the entire thing, but for now I can sit back and admire my work! Not for too long.. Still have a bunch to finish! Feeling very much like Halloween right now! Haha!

My poor dog Dinah would bark and bark at the Cheshire, so much so that we had to hide it in the closet! She was barking because she thought it was alive! Now I finally gave her a reason to bark!

March of the Card Guards

Twenty two days left! Need to get everything done! Ahh! Card Guards are halfway painted... I painted the white using sprayable white lacquer and that ended up saving me time and a few mess ups were easily wiped away! Basically set up a huge assembly line and painted them all at once! Since my brush strokes are still not the best the paint markers come in really useful to get crisp lines!

Already setup the Christmas tree too! Since we are going to be in Disneyland for ten or so days, I decided to bring out the tree early because we won't have time to do it once the wedding gets closer and only having the tree up for nine days once we get back would be a crime! Already spending the night on the couch with Veronica because she loves the lights!

Pumpkins and Card Guards

Spent a few hours carving some pumpkins the other night and we decided to keep it Disney themed! Veronica carved Mickey and Minnie while I did the Hitch Hiking ghosts! Unfortunately our pumpkins rotted after only a single night!! That has never happened before, so this is the only pictures we will see of them :<( I was super bummed! We have two more pumpkins to carve, but after spending so much time and having them rot the next day we decided not to cut them!

To complete the centerpieces for the tables we decided on making card guards and using them for the table numbers! We have thirteen tables and one card guard each makes a total of 52! Wish we had planned it that way, but it just worked out! Hehe! Cut some spears out for the guards too... After cutting out all the letters for the Mad Hatter sign and having to cut 52 of these out and 104 shoes.. blah! Tedious, but that was the easy part! Painting them all is going to be the real challenge!
