Coffin coffee table!

My Fiancee has been doing such a great job selling hair bows she has been making for friends, family, and fellow social networking acquaintances that it lit a fire under my @$$ to try and make something that I can eventually sell to also raise money for our wedding/honeymoon! The problem is the stuff I'm interested in making is unique and there may not be as big of a customer base, lol. All things aside I'm super proud of my Fiancee and finding her creative side and bringing in a bunch of extra income! I always told her how I want to make props and curiosities, etc and sell them for extra cash, but I never seem to put my stuff out there! I decided to change that and make a coffin coffee table that I'm going to try my hardest to find a prospective buyer. I've always wanted a coffin coffee table and have been interested in making one for a few years now, so once I finish this one and sell it I may end up making myself one too! I still need to stain it and add the glass top, but the majority of the project is done! I haven't priced out the glass top yet, but that will probably make or break my profit margin! Not sure how much people would pay for a killer table, but I really hope it is worth making a few more because it was fun!

Decided it would be a good time to take some fun pictures while I still have the coffin at my disposal! :)

This is my daily driven 1957 Volkswagen bug that also doubles as my truck, supply getter, prop hauler, etc!! :) I have loaded more objects onto the roof rack and rear rack than I probably should have over the years! From Christmas trees, a twenty foot canoe to full size coffins my car does it all!

Don't be late!

Knocked out a giant pocket watch today for our Save the Date pictures! Designed the pocket watch using Adobe Illustrator and cut it out of plywood and painted it in using Acrylic craft paints! The pocket watch doesn't live up to my standards because I didn't have the correct scroll saw blade to get nice cuts! The spiral blades cut at any angle and it's really hard to get accurate cuts, but hopefully I am the only one that notices now that it is all painted! I would have waited until I got the correct scroll saw blade, but I needed this done by Saturday!

Alice in Wonderland

Hello all! :) It's been awhile since I posted anything.. Not much to add as far as prop building goes.. Halloween was fun and I got into the Christmas spirit in my own Halloween fashion, but I didn't get around to taking very many pictures! Next December will be a very special time for me because I will be getting married! Both my Fiancee and I choose to go with an Alice in Wonderland theme wedding. The depth of the theme will mainly be based off how many props I can make from now to then! Alice has been a favorite movie of my future wife (and one of mine too) since I met her and one of my earlier projects was her Alice in Wonderland themed box, so between a Halloween, Pirate or Alice wedding we choose the latter! I'm sure my family will be super happy with all the colors in lieu of the skulls, coffins, pirates, etc! :) I'm looking forward to making some props because the theme lends itself to some pretty neat stuff! The first thing I'm making is the Cheshire cat! I believe he is going to go near the guest book. I made him in seperate pieces out of plywood and painted him! I'm working on hooking up a motor so the tail wags and he removes his ear/hair piece just like the movie.

Our living room is still pretty bare since we moved into our own place, so a lot of the props are going to try to be dual purpose and we are going to use them to decorate our soon to be Alice themed living room! Hope everyone is having a great start to the new year!
